A Richmond area native, Gil attended Hermitage High earning multiple letters in football and track on several undefeated teams. Gil says, ” Winning is not a pastime, it's a lifestyle. Sure winning in sports is important; being a person of faith, good citizen, husband, father, friend and square dealer is a life long pursuit. It has no quarters, halves and few time outs

He attended Randolph-Macon College and the University of Virginia majoring in liberal arts. An arm services veteran he was called to active duty several times during the Viet Nam War.

Married with two daughters in college Gil says, “ it's the best time of my life

Gil enjoys and supports fine and performing arts and has been a member of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (icon) and the Richmond Symphony (icon) for many years. An avid competitive sailor, he can be found on the Chesapeake Bay often and holds a United States Coast Guard Master's License for coastal navigation.

Service is a key part of his life, having been a president of PTA, Jaycees, and held elective office he currently serves as:

As an outdoorsman, Gil is absolutely serious about natural resource conservation, wildlife protection and the condition of our major rivers and the Chesapeake Bay . He has been involved with the legislative progress affecting these areas and comments, “ Wise land use is key to our economy and quality of life. Intelligent planning, zoning and practical development makes good sense.”

As real estate and building professional for over 30 years Gil's fresh vision of the future recognizes the richness of the pass and builds on the potential of each project. He completed the VA-Tech - Certified Planning Commission's Program in '92 with annual graduate seminars and quips, “ rarely ever saw a lecture, seminar or course I didn't like, I'm an information sponge.”
